The American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A’s) is committed to helping multicultural aspiring advertising professionals break into the industry. Through the Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP), founded in 1973, racially and ethnically diverse college students have the opportunity to spend 10 weeks during the summer working at 4A’s member agencies. The AAAA Foundation’s Operation Jump Start scholarship program provides financial assistance to students of color studying art direction or copy writing at one of eight 4A’s-participating portfolio schools.

MAIP Agency Applications Due February 19

For nearly four decades, MAIP has placed talented college students of color in full-time summer internships at 4A’s member agencies nationwide. At the end of the summer, these students are equipped to hit the ground running and excel as entry-level advertising professionals.

With a recruiting strategy that reaches thousands of colleges across the country, MAIP assists agencies in obtaining a diverse cross-section of intern candidates. An extensive screening process ensures that the prospective interns have the ability to perform successfully during their internships and the potential to blossom into stellar entry-level candidates.

Visit AdUnity’s Agencies page for more information and to download the application. (Please note: We are no longer accepting student applications for the summer 2010 program. Student applications for the summer 2011 program will be available in September.)
